The unexpected passing of renowned travel influencer Anunay Sood has left Dubai’s travel and social media communities in shock. The 32-year-old, who had made Dubai his home base, tragically died while traveling in Las Vegas.

‘The first travel blogger I ever followed’
Kaunain, a UAE-based travel influencer known as Cruising Cravings, expressed her admiration for Anunay, calling him an inspiration.
“He was the first travel influencer who motivated me to create travel content after seeing his enchanting visuals. The first travel blogger I ever followed,” she shared.
She recalled reaching out to Anunay for local contacts during her first trip after leaving her job. “I went to Kashmir and texted him for local contacts. To my surprise, he responded and helped me with the itinerary despite having over a million followers. He was humble enough to promise a Dubai meet-and-greet for travel bloggers.”
Kaunain later discovered that Anunay’s sister, also residing in Dubai, was a follower of her content.
“She casually texted me saying she enjoyed my content. I didn’t know they were siblings until she mentioned it,” Kaunain said. “Learning she was related to such a prominent travel blogger highlighted how grounded their family is. They need our prayers and support today.”

‘Still can’t process this’
Parikshit Balochi, a prominent RJ and social media influencer in Dubai, expressed disbelief over Anunay’s death.
“I am stunned to hear of his passing. Life is so unpredictable, it’s truly shocking. I have no words,” he said.
“It’s heartbreaking to lose someone so vibrant and full of life. Anunay’s energy and his unique connection with people through his content were remarkable.”
Ashish Sharma, a Dubai-based real estate agent and traveler, shared that he has followed Anunay’s journeys for years.
“I’ve visited many places he explored, often retracing his routes. I had planned to visit Spiti Valley after seeing his recent posts. Still can’t process this… You lived with passion, heart, and adventure, brother. Rest in peace, Anunay. You’ll be deeply missed. Strength to the family.”
Sharma added, “For many in Dubai who followed his adventures, he symbolized freedom and the courage to seek new experiences. Seeing his recent posts from Las Vegas makes this loss even harder to accept.”
