Get ready for DPR 02! Dubai Police’s newest innovation, an autonomous robotic patrol, will start its duties at Global Village tomorrow, assisting officers with quicker responses. This was announced at a press conference during Gitex Global 2025 on Tuesday.
The self-driving patrol autonomously navigates and stays linked to the Command and Control Centre, allowing it to detect issues and notify officers instantly.
Designed for uninterrupted operation, DPR 02 is equipped with AI-driven navigation, 360-degree cameras, and advanced sensors. It smoothly navigates both crowded urban settings and open areas, providing real-time data to assist officers and expedite decision-making.

However, DPR 02 is not a replacement for human officers. It collaborates with them, offering comprehensive situational awareness and immediate coordination with the control centre to ensure quick responses when necessary.
Dubai Police has called this deployment a significant advancement in smart security, demonstrating the emirate’s dedication to leveraging artificial intelligence and modern technology to boost performance, cut response times, and maintain Dubai’s status as a global leader in community-focused safety innovation.

Meanwhile, Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police and Chairman of the Event Security Committee, confirmed that all security arrangements for Global Village are complete.
During an inspection visit, he emphasized Global Village’s importance as one of Dubai’s key seasonal attractions, drawing millions of visitors each year. He mentioned that several coordination meetings were conducted to ensure smooth operations.
