Dubai Police have confiscated 101 e-bikes in various neighborhoods after identifying teens riding them at speeds over 100 km/h on jogging and walking paths, as reported on Friday.

The e-bikes were altered to achieve these high speeds, and 130 traffic violations were recorded last week in Nad Al Sheba and other Dubai areas.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police, stated that violators were detained, legal measures were enforced, and their parents were called to educate them on the risks of unsupervised e-bike use.

Altering e-bikes meant for leisure or short commutes makes them as hazardous as motorcycles. They should not be used on sports tracks.
