Haroon Rashid, a former journalist for Khaleej Times, passed away on Monday morning in Dubai at 79 after bravely battling cancer.
He faced his illness with remarkable strength and bravery. He leaves behind his wife, three sons, and a daughter.
Funeral prayers were held Monday evening at Sonapur Cemetery in Dubai.
Former colleagues remembered him as a true gentleman. Originally from Karachi, Rashid worked at Gulf News before joining Khaleej Times, where he was known for his dedication and hard work.
Even after leaving Khaleej Times, he stayed in touch with former colleagues through calls and WhatsApp, always checking on their well-being.
