The first Dubai Turf Club (DTC) Dinner was hosted on Saturday night at the Arts Club in Dubai.

Inspired by Sophie Ryan of the Dubai Racing Club (DRC) and modeled after the Cambridge University Horse Racing Society, established by the Jockey Club and Newmarket Racecourses, the DTC seeks to engage young racing enthusiasts in the UAE and foster connections at Meydan, the heart of horse racing in Dubai.

The event welcomed founding members and prominent supporters, including Charles Yardley, CEO of Khaleej Times. Entrepreneur Harry Tregoning, known for his deep family roots in racing, was the Guest of Honour.

Sophie Ryan, who leads Corporate Communications, Marketing & Brand, represented DRC at the gathering.

Distinguished attendees included Jack Weatherby, Martin Blechta, and Alice Weightman.

Harry Tregoning shared his personal racing journey, highlighting his upbringing around horses, meeting his wife Laetitia at Pony Club, and his family’s ties to the sport culminating in the Darley Arabian.

He praised Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for his impact on horse racing through Godolphin and the Dubai World Cup, elevating the UAE’s status in global racing.

The evening concluded with Isaac Carter being elected as the President of the Dubai Turf Club for the 2025-2026 term.
