What increases the efficiency of Russian weapons, especially offensive ones, is that Russia manufactures advanced types of armor-piercing ammunition, making them more lethal compared to other weapons of the same caliber.

Machine guns designed to engage ground and aerial targets are among the most lethal Russian ammunitions, especially the 14.5 mm incendiary rounds, codenamed “MDZ-M,” as noted by the Russian company “Rosoboronexport.” These rounds are used to destroy ground targets at a range of 2000 meters and aerial targets flying at altitudes up to 1500 meters.

The danger of incendiary rounds lies in their tips containing highly flammable compressed gas, which can ignite any target upon impact. They are devastating when aimed at the fuel tanks of lightly armored vehicles and helicopters or fixed-wing aircraft flying at low altitudes. They can also be used against stationary ground targets such as fuel depots.
