According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the two ministers affirmed the importance of continuing efforts to implement the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement in all its phases and the necessity of establishing a ceasefire in Gaza and preventing any violations.

The Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Qatar also stressed the urgency of forming an international stabilization force for Gaza and enabling it to perform its mandate, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the unobstructed flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza and supporting early recovery and reconstruction efforts.

Earlier today, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, stated that “Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt, alongside the United States, are shaping the future path for the next phase in Gaza.” Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman said in his speech at the Doha Forum 2025, “We are at a critical juncture regarding the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. Mediators are working together for the next phase of the ceasefire in Gaza,” highlighting that the region is experiencing a decisive moment.

He added, “We cannot consider a complete ceasefire unless Israeli forces fully withdraw and stability is achieved in Gaza.” The Qatari Prime Minister explained that the conflict is not limited to the Gaza Strip alone but also includes the West Bank and the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people to build their independent state, expressing hope for continued cooperation with the new American administration to achieve this goal.

This comes as U.S. President Donald Trump intends to announce the transition of the peace process in Gaza to its second phase and unveil the new governance structure in the sector before the Christmas holidays. American officials and a Western source told Israel’s Channel 12 that the formation of the international force and the new governance structure for Gaza is in its final stages, expressing hope to reveal it within two to three weeks.

Since the signing of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and “Hamas” on October 13, “Hamas” has handed over the living Israeli prisoners and a number of bodies to Israel, while releasing about two thousand Palestinian prisoners and the bodies of Palestinian detainees.

In October, Egypt hosted a peace summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah and U.S. President Donald Trump, with the participation of leaders from about 20 countries.

Over two years of continuous Israeli warfare on the Gaza Strip, the sector was destroyed from the far south to the north, with the destruction of the medical sector, schools, universities, places of worship, infrastructure, and vital resources that support life in the sector. Fifteen vital sectors in Gaza were destroyed, and the attacks left large numbers of Palestinian civilians dead and injured.
