This took place during talks with his Ugandan counterpart, Henry Oryem Okello, on Monday in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, as reported by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its official website.

The statement highlighted Abdel Aaty’s emphasis on rejecting all unilateral measures that violate international law, while also asserting Cairo’s keenness to develop political and economic cooperation with Uganda. He mentioned leveraging the project financing mechanism launched by Egypt for the Southern Nile Basin countries.

The minister also delivered an Egyptian grant consisting of agricultural equipment and light transportation means to a Ugandan non-governmental organization, in support of youth and small farmers, according to the statement.

Abdel Aaty pointed out the readiness of Egyptian companies to contribute to Uganda’s modernization plans, especially in the fields of infrastructure, energy, and pharmaceutical industries, while localizing part of these industries, given the successes achieved in African markets.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister also referred to the training programs provided by the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, which are highly appreciated by the Ugandan side.

The statement noted that the Egyptian minister presented aspects of existing cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing that respect for international law principles is the foundation of joint cooperation among the basin countries.
