Egyptian Aid Convoy Heads to Gaza

Cairo News reported that the Egyptian aid convoy moved from the Egyptian city of Rafah to the Gaza Strip, noting that it includes dozens of trucks. The Egyptian channel continued: “The National Alliance for Civil Action in Egypt announced the launch of convoy number 11, which is the largest so far, as it includes more than 200 trucks carrying 4,000 tons of food supplies.” It pointed out that the Egyptian Red Crescent is overseeing the preparation of food baskets sufficient for a family of 5 members for a week, and this week has doubled compared to previous convoys, amidst what it described as “Israeli intransigence” at the crossings.

The convoy involves 13 Egyptian civil institutions that have worked for weeks to pack aid with the participation of thousands of volunteers across various governorates. Official Egyptian sources clarified that the aid was coordinated with the concerned authorities according to the actual needs inside the strip and that it is part of an ongoing relief bridge reflecting the Egyptian popular solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

From October 7, 2023, to August 3 of the current year, the war on Gaza has resulted in the death of about 61,000 Palestinians, in addition to about 150,000 injured, according to data from the Ministry of Health in the strip.
