Elon Musk’s statements came today, Saturday, in response to a post by a user on the “X” platform, which said: “With the development of Artificial General Intelligence, ‘AGI’, humans will become mere secondary characters in a digital simulation.” In turn, he commented, “Most likely, this is true.” It should be noted that Musk expressed last year his confidence that artificial intelligence will surpass human intelligence by 2030, although he previously stated that by 2025, artificial intelligence would be smarter than any human. He also added that by 2029, it would surpass all humans combined.
The American billionaire founded the artificial intelligence company “xAI” in 2023 to compete with the giants of the AI sector worldwide. Currently, the company is working on developing an AI model known as “Grok,” unveiled in November of the same year.
General Artificial Intelligence “AGI” is a type that can think, understand, and make decisions like a human, and may even surpass humans in most cognitive and intellectual tasks.
