Anadolu Agency quoted Erdogan in a post saying: “During the meeting we will hold at the White House with my esteemed colleague and friend, President Trump, we will discuss many issues, primarily trade, investment, and defense industries, with our ally the United States, with whom we share comprehensive strategic relations.” The Turkish President expressed his confidence that “the meeting will further enhance cooperation between the two countries, within the framework of our shared vision for international peace,” as he put it.

Erdogan’s statements come after the American President, Donald Trump, announced last Friday that he will host his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at the White House on Thursday, September 25th. Trump explained in a statement on his social media platform “Truth Social” that the talks will include major trade and military deals, including the purchase of Boeing aircraft and a significant F-16 deal, alongside continuing negotiations on the F-35 fighter program, which are expected to conclude positively.

President Donald Trump affirmed the strength of his relationship with his Turkish counterpart Erdogan, describing it as “very good,” expressing his anticipation for their meeting in Washington.
