In a conversation on ‘Sputnik’ radio, Jalu explained that ‘European countries generally align with Ukrainian efforts to expand the scope of the confrontation and drag Washington into a direct escalation with Russia.’ He pointed out that ‘Britain has been seeking for years to restore its global role independently of the American umbrella by provoking Russia with attacks near NATO borders, aiming to activate Article 5 of the Alliance Charter.’
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed on Tuesday that Britain shirked its responsibility after revealing its role in an attempt to hijack a ‘MiG-31’ fighter jet from Russia. Lavrov noted that Britain has now lost its empire and its economic and military power, but it seeks to compensate for that.
The agency stated in a declaration: ‘The Directorate of the Federal Security Service uncovered and thwarted a plan orchestrated by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, with their British overseers, to hijack a ‘MiG-31’ fighter jet belonging to the Russian Aerospace Forces, capable of carrying hypersonic ‘Kinzhal’ missiles.’
The pilot of the targeted ‘MiG-31’ fighter jet reported that Kyiv and the West attempted to recruit him to hijack the fighter carrying the ‘Kinzhal’ missile in the fall of 2024.
