Final Preparations for Egyptian Museum Opening

This was stated during a television interview last Tuesday, where Shaker discussed the final preparations for the opening of the Egyptian Museum, “Al-Ahram Gate.” Shaker mentioned that “the preparations include beautifying, lighting, and planting along the roads leading to the museum.” He noted that “more than 3,000 trees and 2,000 palm trees have been planted.”

The Egyptian official also explained that “images of ancient Egyptian kings have been hung along the airport and Maadi roads, along with more than 750 artworks depicting symbols of thought, art, science, and sports in Egypt.” He highlighted that the aim is to create a comprehensive visual identity that precedes the visit experience.

According to statements by Magdy Shaker, the chief archaeologist at the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the museum houses more than 18,000 artifacts in 12 main halls. He explained that the museum display is based on a thematic scenario that tells a complete story about life, royalty, and religion in ancient Egypt through the artifacts.

Egypt began a temporary closure of the Grand Egyptian Museum on October 15th to complete the technical preparations inside its halls. This is in anticipation of the official opening scheduled for November 1st, which will span three days of celebrations before the museum opens to visitors from November 4th onward.
