OIC Supports Ceasefire Efforts in Gaza

The final statement of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation meeting in Jeddah affirmed its support for Qatar, Egypt, and America’s efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, calling for the opening of crossings and the unimpeded entry of sufficient aid to Gaza.

The statement condemned “Israel’s stubbornness and refusal to respond to attempts to reach a truce in Gaza,” urging the guarantee of freedom for relief agencies to operate in Gaza, particularly UNRWA.

The organization announced its rejection of the irresponsible statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the vision of Greater Israel, emphasizing “the necessity for the Palestinian government to assume its responsibilities across the occupied territories.”

The residents of the Gaza Strip suffer from unprecedented levels of hunger, with UN organizations warning of a widespread famine and increasing death tolls, especially among children, patients, and people with disabilities.

From October 7, 2023, to August 21, 2025, the war on Gaza has resulted in the death of approximately 62,000 Palestinians and about 157,000 injuries, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
