Floward, a leading online destination for flowers and gifts in the MENA region and UK, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to back MADE51, a global initiative that fosters economic inclusion for refugee artisans.

This agreement highlights Floward’s dedication to empowering displaced communities and honoring their craftsmanship. Through this partnership, Floward is set to introduce a special line of gifts crafted by refugee artisans worldwide, enabling their connection to global markets while providing Floward customers with meaningful, sustainable gifts.

Founded in 2017, Floward delivers a comprehensive e-commerce experience, offering premium fresh-cut flowers from top growers globally, arranged locally by skilled florists and designers. Floward also provides cakes, chocolates, and perfumes curated by top regional designers, complemented by their flower arrangements, ensuring a seamless same-day delivery for an exceptional customer experience.

This initiative aligns with Floward’s larger ESG goals of inclusion, ethical sourcing, and supporting underserved communities through impactful, long-term partnerships.

Launched by UNHCR in 2018, MADE51 supports refugee artisans by offering training, resources, and access to global markets. It empowers skilled artisans forced to flee their homes to earn sustainable income while preserving their cultural heritage and dignity through craft.

Abdulaziz B. Al Loughani, Floward’s chairman and CEO, stated: “As part of our 2025 ESG strategy, Floward is committed to supporting communities and offering more responsible, socially impactful products. Our collaboration with UNHCR and MADE51 allows us to achieve both by bringing thoughtfully crafted, high-quality gifts to our customers and providing real economic opportunities for refugee artisans.”

Dr. Nadjia Hafsa, UNHCR’s deputy representative to the Gulf Cooperation Countries, noted: “This partnership with Floward exemplifies how solidarity with refugees can translate into action and how private sector entities can support refugees. Each MADE51 piece tells a story of resilience, creativity, and hope, and our collaboration with Floward will amplify these stories while supporting refugee artisans in building sustainable livelihoods and achieving greater self-reliance.”

This upcoming collection will showcase the talent and stories of refugees across the globe, adding depth, purpose, and sustainability to the gifting experience.
