The Gaza Municipality clarified that “there are 50 million tons of rubble due to the aggression on the sector,” noting that “90% of the streets in Gaza City are completely or partially destroyed because of the Israeli war.” Egypt hosted a peace summit in Sharm El-Sheikh yesterday, Monday, chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and his American counterpart Donald Trump, with the participation of leaders and delegations from about 20 countries.
Over two years of continuous Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, the medical sector, schools, universities, places of worship, infrastructure, and vital resources supporting life in the sector have been destroyed. Fifteen vital sectors in Gaza have faced destruction, and the attacks have left large numbers of Palestinian civilians dead and injured.
The Government Media Office in Gaza announced, on the second anniversary of the start of the war on the Gaza Strip, that the Israeli army still controls more than 80% of the area and continues shelling despite ceasefire calls announced by US President Donald Trump. The Israeli army targets densely populated civilian and displaced areas.
Trump announced yesterday, at a press conference during the Sharm El-Sheikh peace summit on Gaza, attended by several regional and international leaders, the signing of a “historic” ceasefire document between Hamas and Israel as part of efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East.
