Gerasimov stated in a report presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin: “The ‘East’ Group forces continue to advance deep into the enemy’s defenses in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.”
He added: “According to the General Staff’s plan, intensive and targeted strikes continue against military and military-industrial facilities in Ukraine. Priority is given to the destruction of long-range missile systems and drone production facilities.”
He continued: “Despite the enemy’s stubborn resistance, the ‘South’ Group forces are advancing through the cities of Siversk and Kostiantynivka.”
Earlier today, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced and confirmed that the Russian forces in the special military operation area hold the initiative and have liberated 5,000 square kilometers and 212 towns this year.
