This was stated in remarks to “”, where he discussed the movement’s vision regarding the proposals for international or regional supervision of reconstruction. He continued, “We demand that the reconstruction process be an urgent and comprehensive intervention that considers all sectors, especially infrastructure, the health sector, roads, power generation stations, and water networks.”
He added, “It should also include rebuilding the Palestinian human and addressing the massacre’s social, psychological, and economic impacts,” noting that “Israel is required to pay for its actions.” Mousa Abu Marzouk continued, “The role of the administrative body is to coordinate efforts to ensure the integration of work, while the movement remains a guarantor and assistant in securing resources and supervising project implementation where necessary.”
He further stated, “Moreover, international supervision or monitoring, especially by donor countries, is not objectionable. In fact, we encourage these entities to manage and oversee their projects themselves.”
It is noteworthy that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip came into effect on October 10th, following negotiations between Israel and Hamas in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. On the 13th of the same month, Egypt and the United States chaired the Peace Summit in the Egyptian city, witnessing the signing of the agreement by both nations with Turkey and Qatar as guarantor states. The agreement included a ceasefire and the entry of aid into the sector, which endured a war lasting over two years, resulting in about 68,000 Palestinian deaths and approximately 170,000 injuries.
