Ghalibaf’s statements came in response to the Knesset Speaker’s denial of famine among Gaza’s children, which he labeled as “fabricated news.” Ghalibaf wrote on the “X” platform: “Shame on you, are the UN and UNICEF experts lying, and only you are telling the truth?”
Ghalibaf referred to four UN reports confirming “the occurrence of famine and genocide in Gaza,” including the “Anatomy of Genocide” report by Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, and a report titled “Thirst as a Weapon” condemning the use of hunger and water scarcity as weapons against Palestinians, according to Iranian news agency “IRNA.”
Ghalibaf also presented a recent “UNICEF” report warning that Gaza has “exceeded the famine threshold,” in addition to a report from the Human Rights Commission calling for an “end to the ongoing genocide.”
The Iranian Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, angered the Knesset Speaker during the World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments in Geneva when he displayed photos of two Palestinian children killed in Gaza, describing Israel as the “Nazis of the 21st century.”
