A video showcasing a massive traffic jam on the Delhi-Jaipur highway in Gurugram is gaining attention online. Heavy rainfall on Monday evening in ‘Millennium City’ brought traffic to a halt along a 7km stretch of this crucial route for countless daily commuters between Delhi and Mumbai.

Rain-induced traffic jams in India’s major cities are not uncommon. However, traffic congestion of this magnitude is rare. Citizens and politicians in Gurugram have shared the video, expressing astonishment at how a brief two-hour downpour disrupted life in the city.

The video, captured from a high-rise overlooking the highway, reveals a sea of brake lights as cars waited for hours for the roads to clear.
