Despite its immense popularity, Global Village is not set to become a year-round destination. This was confirmed by a senior official from Dubai Holdings Entertainment (DHE), which manages the venue.

“Global Village is primarily an outdoor attraction with a hectic schedule,” stated Rami Mashini, VP of Sales at DHE. “Currently, it operates for seven months annually. To maintain its quality, we need at least two to three months each year for enhancements and developments to elevate the visitor experience. Therefore, the strategy is to maintain the current schedule.”

His comments were made at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, where DHE is represented at the Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism stand.

He added that Global Village, celebrating its landmark 30th season, aims to surpass last season’s visitor count of 10.5 million. “Given this number of visitors over our operating months, we rank among the top five attractions worldwide,” he remarked.

Revamping Riverland

Rami emphasized efforts to transform Riverland at Dubai Parks and Resorts into one of the “most advanced family entertainment centers in the region,” with several new attractions underway.

“Riverland features archery and axe throwing,” he noted. “We’re also introducing go-karting, Perplex City for immersive experiences, The Hidden Chambers escape room, and numerous new dining options. Nightly laser shows are also planned, and we’re supporting small businesses with bazaars at Riverland. Our goal for next year is to make it a premier family entertainment hub.”

He mentioned that many exciting projects will be added to the park, with announcements to follow. Last year, Real Madrid World debuted with a 460-foot amusement ride and the region’s first wooden roller coaster, capturing the essence of the Real Madrid journey.

DHE, a leader in entertainment and hospitality, owns and operates 17 entertainment and media companies, including Global Village, Ain Dubai, Coca Cola Arena, and Roxy Cinema.

Luxury Experiences Expanded

Rami observed a rising demand for ultra-luxurious experiences and glamping, prompting DHE to launch new attractions. The recently introduced T-Rex glamping project at DPR offers 65 family tents, BBQ facilities, and free park access.

The company also provides a premium, butler-guided experience at Burj Al Arab, which includes an exclusive gold beverage option during the tour. Additionally, DHE plans to expand its offerings with a new space camp experience and desert safaris.
