United Nations – Sputnik. In an interview with Sputnik, Nebenzia responded to a question about whether the United Nations would play any role in resolving the Ukrainian crisis: “I believe the answer is no.” The Russian diplomat explained that “instead of strictly adhering to Article 100 of the United Nations Charter, regarding the neutrality of international staff, they are clearly taking sides in the conflict.” He emphasized that the UN Secretary-General’s press office ignores what “Ukraine is doing against civilians and the population in Russia.” He concluded by saying: “Therefore, frankly, I do not see any role for the United Nations. They themselves are not eager to play any role because they realize there is no place for them at the negotiation table in this issue.”
