Hamas Negotiations Halted Amidst Tensions

The Palestinian movement stated in a press release this morning, Sunday, that the negotiation process has been halted since the failed assassination attempt targeting its delegation on the ninth of this month in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Hamas announced its readiness to consider any proposals that might come from mediators “with full positivity and responsibility,” ensuring the preservation of the national rights of the Palestinian people. The movement emphasized that it has not received any new proposals from mediators contrary to what some media outlets are reporting.

It confirmed that the ongoing discussions are “highly constructive” and that the goal is “to recover the hostages and achieve lasting peace,” noting that the Palestinian Hamas movement is “fully aware of what is happening,” and that Israel has been informed at all levels, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

From October 7, 2023, until September 26 of the same year, approximately 66,000 Palestinians were killed, and around 168,000 were injured, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.

It is worth mentioning that Israel’s plan to control the city of Gaza, known as “Gideon Chariots 2,” involves forcibly displacing about one million Palestinians to the southern part of the sector, which has led to widespread international criticism of Israel, which continues to prepare to implement the plan despite all warnings.
