Al-Muhanna stated during the inauguration ceremony of the first ‘Nas’ flight at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow: ‘This is a historic event in Russian-Saudi relations. Currently, there are three weekly flights between Moscow and Riyadh, and we aim to increase their number in the near future, alongside expanding our air services to other Russian cities.’
In his opinion, direct flights to Saudi Arabia will attract a large number of Russian tourists, including Muslims, to visit the holy places. Al-Muhanna concluded by saying: ‘Saudi Arabia has much to offer to Russians: the Red Sea, AlUla Oasis, and the Islamic holy sites. Approximately 25 million Muslims live in Russia, and our goal is to facilitate their visits to these places.’
The first direct flight from Riyadh landed at Vnukovo Airport today, Friday. Meanwhile, another company plane took off from Moscow to the Saudi capital.
