The agency mentioned in its annual report that approximately 37 million tons of low-carbon hydrogen are expected to be produced annually by 2030, compared to 49 million tons projected last year. This is due to several developers postponing or canceling their projects. The agency added that there is potential if governments adopt effective policies to boost demand and accelerate the pace of building the necessary infrastructure, according to Western media sources.

The agency expects this gap to narrow by 2030, thanks to lower technology costs, strong growth of renewable energy sources in some regions, and the implementation of new regulatory systems supporting clean hydrogen within cost structures.
