The IAME UAE Series Round 1 kicked off the 2025/2026 karting season on October 5, 2025, at RAK Track in Ras Al Khaimah, marking an exciting new chapter for the sport in the Emirates. Despite the hot afternoon, the atmosphere buzzed as teams, drivers, and families gathered to witness the season opener.
Founded in Italy in 1968, IAME is a global kart engine manufacturer with a strong presence in the UAE, thanks to Sheikh Waleed Al Qassimi, who played a pivotal role in establishing organized karting in the region.
The opening event was covered by Media Friends, the official media partner of IAME UAE, offering live broadcasts, driver interviews, and social media updates all weekend.
Giovanni Dezzani, CEO of Media Friends, stated: “Round 1 was an ideal season start, filled with energy, thrilling races, and team passion. Our aim this year is to expand IAME UAE’s reach, highlighting the talent and dedication within this championship. Media Friends is proud to contribute to shaping karting’s future in the region.”
On track, the competition was intense across all four categories:
-
In the Mini class, Achilleas Peruzzi of Predator Motorsport dominated, winning every session from qualifying to the final, with Augustin and Page of Xcel Motorsport following.
-
The Bambino category featured the youngest drivers, many of whom debuted. Ristic (Synergy UAE) won, with Karajkovic (JNKD Racing) second and Testa (Synergy UAE) third.
-
In the Junior Final, Leonidas Peruzzi of Predator Motorsport claimed victory after a tough battle with Chopra (MN Motorsport), while Koreishi (Mumbai Falcons) finished third.
-
The Senior category showcased the day’s tightest races, with Pope (GGM) winning over Montgomery-Swan (JNKD Racing) and Koreishi (Mumbai Falcons) maintaining strong form.
Round 1 confirmed RAK Track’s status as the championship’s hub. The venue is undergoing renovations to improve safety and facilities and introduce advanced technical elements to elevate karting standards in the region.
The championship moves to Dubai Kartdrome later this month for Rounds 2 and 3, where the battle for early championship momentum will intensify.
