With excitement mounting for the India vs Pakistan clash in Dubai during the 2025 Asia Cup, BJP member and ex-cricketer Kedar Jadhav expressed his disapproval of the match.
In an interview with ANI, he stated: “I don’t believe India should play, and I doubt they will.”
The longstanding rivalry between these South Asian nations has often spilled over into sports. In May, the Indian Premier League (IPL) was paused for a week following conflicts linked to a terror attack in Pahalgam, India.

Regarding India’s participation in the Asia Cup, Jadhav affirmed: “India will triumph wherever they play, but I am confident they won’t play this match,” he told reporters when asked about the India-Pakistan face-off.
The tournament is scheduled to take place in the UAE from September 9 to 28, 2025. Recently, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) confirmed the tournament would proceed in September, with India and Pakistan in the same group as the UAE and Oman.
