Baghaei pointed out that the text takes into account the field realities resulting from the illegal attacks launched by Israel and the United States on Iranian nuclear facilities, according to Mehr News Agency, as reported on Tuesday. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman also noted that the text considers the House of Representatives’ law on this matter and the considerations of the Supreme National Security Council, mentioning that three rounds of negotiations have been held between Iranian representatives and the agency.
Ismail Baghaei mentioned that the visits of the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Tunisia and Egypt are part of a wider effort with regional and Islamic countries to exchange views on international developments. On Monday, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, stated that talks with Iran regarding the resumption of comprehensive inspections have made progress, but he warned that time is running out, expressing hope for an agreement to be reached within days.
Iran decided to suspend cooperation with the Atomic Energy Agency until the safety of scientists and nuclear facilities is ensured according to standards and a timeline set by the Supreme National Security Council, following the American and Israeli bombings of its nuclear facilities during a 12-day war in June. In July, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that his country remains committed to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, but clarified that cooperation with the International Agency will be managed through the Supreme National Security Council for safety and security reasons.
