In a press statement reported by the Tasnim International News Agency, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail emphasized that Tehran does not underestimate this mechanism but fully recognizes its negative implications. He expressed his country’s concern about its potential effects. He added that Iran is making intensive efforts to counter this mechanism, pointing to ongoing discussions in Geneva and talks with China as part of these efforts.

Earlier this month, Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani stated that the current interactions between Iran and the three European countries are not formal negotiations but rather a dialogue and exchange of views on the nuclear issue amid increasingly complex circumstances. Mohajerani affirmed that the current talks are limited to exchanging opinions and do not rise to the level of attempts to reach an agreement.

The European troika (France, Germany, Britain) seeks to pressure Tehran to return to serious negotiations, warning that time is running out, according to a diplomat speaking to Western media. This meeting comes after a long hiatus caused by the recent war between Iran and Israel, which led to a freeze in the negotiation process between Tehran and Washington.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated earlier that his country is committed to its rights to possess a peaceful nuclear program and will not relinquish its right to enrichment.
