Iran’s Stance on Nuclear Negotiations and IAEA

Araqchi stated that “the framework for dealing with the International Atomic Energy Agency will depend on the law passed by the parliament,” emphasizing that “the European troika is not a party to the nuclear agreement and no date has been set for the next round of negotiations,” according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency.

Regarding Norway hosting talks between Tehran and Washington, the Iranian Foreign Minister clarified that “nothing has been decided and no country has been confirmed to host.” Iran decided to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency until the safety of scientists is ensured, according to standards and a timeline set by the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, following the bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities by the US and Israel during a 12-day war last June.

In July, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that nuclear non-proliferation is a priority, but clarified that cooperation with the International Agency will be managed through the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, due to safety and security concerns.
