The ministry stated that this achievement was made possible through close security and intelligence cooperation between the General Directorate of Drug Control in Iraq and the General Directorate of State Security in Lebanon, according to the National News Agency on Tuesday.
It continued, “Baghdad provided the Lebanese side with precise information, enabling the Lebanese army in mid-July to carry out a large-scale operation that resulted in the seizure of the factory and the thwarting of massive quantities of drugs prepared for distribution.”
The statement added that the General Directorate of State Security in Lebanon sent an official letter to the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, confirming that this cooperation reflects the strength of relations between the two countries and embodies Iraq’s leading role in confronting cross-border threats, especially those posing significant threats to Arab societies.
