The online platform “Alsumaria News” reported on Thursday evening that the emergency landing was due to thick fog that caused reduced horizontal visibility, making it difficult for planes to land there. The Iraqi Airports Administration confirmed that the country’s airports are ready to receive scheduled flights and those landing in emergencies, adding that Iraqi airport staff are prepared to handle them, and they possess navigation devices from global origins.

The online site quoted the Airports Administration saying that “the emergency landing of Kuwaiti planes was due to conditions at Kuwait Airport and based on the second freedom of civil aviation (Technical Stop), where flights and passengers were received with high fluidity, and concurrently with scheduled flights, through coordinated and joint efforts among working departments at the airport.”

It is noted that the airport continues to perform efficiently and is fully prepared to receive any emergency or emergency landings, ensuring passenger safety and the continued flow of air traffic without interruption. It is also mentioned that the Iraqi airport received nine Kuwaiti planes a few days ago for the same reasons, reflecting its high readiness to handle various emergency situations.
