According to the Iraqi News Agency – ‘INA’, the commission stated in its midterm report on participation rates that ‘the special voting process saw a wide turnout from security personnel across various provinces,’ noting that ‘the process is proceeding smoothly according to the approved schedules.’ The Iraqi elections for 2025 began on Sunday morning, amidst tight security measures and meticulous organization by the Independent High Electoral Commission. This voting includes the security and military forces in their various formations, in addition to the displaced persons previously registered with the commission, who head to their designated polling stations across the country’s provinces to cast their votes two days before the general voting day.

Suleiman explained in statements to ‘Sputnik’ that ‘the commission’s preparations and procedures were based on precise legal and organizational foundations, which contributed to the smoothness of the voting process and the increase in turnout from the early morning hours until the middle of the voting period.’ He added that ‘the conduct of the electoral process at this level of discipline and coordination represents a first step towards greater success on the general voting day,’ affirming that ‘the commission is proceeding with its plan to ensure fair and transparent elections that reflect the voters’ will.’

In contrast, the head of the media team at the Independent High Electoral Commission, Imad Jamil, said that ‘the special voting process for the security forces is proceeding smoothly and with high organization across all provinces,’ indicating that ‘the commission allocated 809 polling centers comprising more than 4,137 polling stations for this purpose.’ He confirmed that ‘there is a large turnout of voters in some centers, where there were orderly queues thanks to prior coordination between the commission and the security forces to facilitate the entry and exit of voters and prevent any congestion or bottlenecks.’

Jamil pointed out that ‘the electronic devices are operating with high efficiency and no cases of stoppage or violations in the electoral process have been recorded so far,’ noting that ‘the commission applies strict measures to ensure transparency and integrity.’ The special voting centers in the sixth session of the Iraqi parliamentary elections for 2025 witnessed, from the early morning hours of this day, a wide turnout from security personnel in their various formations from the Ministries of Interior and Defense, with high fluidity and meticulous organization within the polling centers, according to local media.
