Israel Air-Drops Aid to Gaza Amid Crisis

Netanyahu’s office wrote on the platform ‘X’: ‘Hamas has stolen food from its people, and Israel has taken action. We have air-dropped aid to the residents of Gaza and invited other countries to join us. Some countries have already responded. We ensured the security of the airspace and the safety of the air drops, guaranteeing food delivery. Any country genuinely willing to help is welcome to join us,’ according to Israeli media.

The Israeli army announced today, Wednesday, that it is cooperating with three Arab countries in air drops over the Gaza Strip. ‘Captain Ella,’ the spokesperson for the Israeli army, released a new statement on social media this Wednesday evening, clarifying that their country is collaborating with Egypt, Jordan, and the UAE to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The Israeli army confirmed that in the last few hours, they have air-dropped 32 packages of humanitarian aid, including food supplies for the residents of southern and northern Gaza Strip.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Jordanian News Agency (Petra) reported that the Jordanian and UAE armed forces had executed two air drops aimed at delivering humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinian residents in Gaza. The agency confirmed that 16 tons of food and baby formula were dropped in various areas of the Gaza Strip, noting that ‘in collaboration with the UAE, approximately 73 tons of essential supplies were dropped into Gaza in the past few days.’

In related news, the death toll and malnutrition cases in the Gaza Strip have risen to 154 fatalities, including 89 children, following seven new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip. They stated: ‘Thus, the death toll from starvation has risen to 154 martyrs, including 89 children.’

The Gaza Strip is experiencing one of the worst humanitarian crises, with residents suffering severe famine amid the war waged by Israel since October 7, 2023. Since October 7, 2023, until this July, the conflict has resulted in the deaths of more than 59,000 Palestinians, in addition to approximately 143,000 injuries, according to data from the Ministry of Health in the sector.
