Israel and Hamas Negotiation Developments

The Israeli channel “12” quoted a participant in the negotiations saying that “relatives of the detainees were informed that Israeli red lines might be crossed if Hamas agrees to a partial agreement.” The Israeli channel stated that “Israel has not yet received any draft from the mediators, while Egypt and Qatar are trying to expedite the process.” This comes after a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s office, released last Saturday, affirming that “Israel seeks only a comprehensive agreement that includes the release of all hostages at once,” following reports about Hamas’s readiness. The aim of this attempt is to reach this announcement within a month, possibly by next October, and to avoid the need to expand the military operation in Gaza, according to the same source. The channel noted that sources in the security establishment and the Israeli National Security Council head, Tzachi Hanegbi, say that “if there is an opportunity to release 10 live hostages and between 15 and 18 deceased hostages, it should not be risked, even if it requires a 60-day ceasefire.”
