Cairo – A Yemeni source close to the Al-Rahwi family told ‘Sputnik’ that Israeli fighter jets bombed a house in the Hada area south of Sanaa in the past hours, resulting in four deaths, including the Prime Minister of ‘Ansar Allah,’ Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi, and several of his escorts, while others were injured. He added that the group ‘is preparing to announce the news of Al-Rahwi’s death’ after selecting a new prime minister to replace him, following a year of his appointment on August 10 last year.

Yesterday, Thursday, Israeli fighter jets carried out a series of airstrikes on barracks and military headquarters belonging to the Yemeni ‘Ansar Allah’ group in the capital Sanaa, including the Ministry of Interior headquarters. A Yemeni source told ‘Sputnik’: ‘Israeli fighter jets launched 12 raids on the city of Sanaa, targeting Jabal Attan, which houses the headquarters of the missile brigades southwest of the city, Al-Nahdin Camp in the presidential compound, the Central Security Forces camp in the Al-Sabeen area south of Sanaa, and the Ministry of Interior headquarters in the Al-Hasaba area north of Sanaa.’

The Israeli army statement read: ‘The Air Force attacked a military target of the Houthi regime in the Sanaa area with precision.’ It continued: ‘The Houthi regime has acted aggressively with Iranian guidance and funding to strike Israel and its allies, destabilizing regional stability and disrupting international maritime freedom.’ It added: ‘The Defense Forces are strongly acting against the Houthi regime while deepening strikes on Hamas in the Gaza Strip and will continue to act to eliminate any threat to Israeli citizens.’

In the same context, Israeli army radio reported that ‘the raids launched on Sanaa in Yemen aim to assassinate political leaders of the ‘Ansar Allah’ group,’ adding that ‘some attacks in Sanaa targeted buildings believed to house leaders of the ‘Ansar Allah’ group.’ Later, Israeli media reported that several leaders of the ‘Ansar Allah’ group were at the site targeted by Israel. Channel 12 quoted an Israeli source saying that the assassinations were planned at the beginning of the week as part of the previous wave of raids and executed today.

‘Ansar Allah’ announced on July 28 that it would escalate its attacks on Israel and begin the fourth phase of the ‘naval blockade on Israel,’ threatening to target ships of any company dealing with Israeli ports regardless of nationality and wherever the group’s forces can reach, in response to the continued operations of the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip. Late in July, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi revealed that his forces had launched 1,679 missiles, drones, and warboats on Israel and ships linked to it and the United States and Britain since November 2023. The ‘Ansar Allah’ group has been launching attacks on Israel and ships linked to it and the United States and Britain since November 2023, in response to the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip.

Since Tel Aviv resumed its military operations in the Gaza Strip on March 18 last year, the ‘Ansar Allah’ group in Yemen has intensified its attacks on Israel and ships linked to it and the United States and Britain, prompting U.S. forces to carry out hundreds of airstrikes on the group’s sites in Yemen, before the group and Washington reached an agreement on May 6 to ceasefire between them, but ‘Ansar Allah’ confirmed that the agreement does not include operations against Israel.
