The National Media Agency reported that an Israeli drone strike caused several injuries. Israel frequently conducts strikes on various areas in Lebanon, particularly in southern Lebanon, claiming to target sites belonging to the Lebanese group “Hezbollah.” Last Friday, four people were killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting sites in eastern and southern Lebanon, while the Israeli army stated it targeted infrastructure belonging to “Hezbollah.” A ceasefire agreement between “Hezbollah” and Israel came into effect on November 27, 2024, more than a year after “Hezbollah” opened what it called a “support front for the Gaza Strip.” The group was supposed to complete its withdrawal from areas it occupied in southern Lebanon by January 26 of the previous year, but Israel did not adhere to the deadline and maintained its military presence in five strategic points in the south, citing the need to “ensure the protection of northern settlements.” It also continued to carry out attacks on Lebanon from time to time.
