Israeli Channel 12, citing security sources, reported that “a force from the 202nd Battalion in the army today, Tuesday, neutralized the Palestinian who earlier carried out a ramming operation, resulting in the injury of an Israeli female soldier.” Footage documents a side of the ongoing evacuation of residents’ homes by Israeli forces, this time around the ‘Sanober’ family home west of Nablus. The Israeli army stated in a declaration: “A short while ago, after receiving a report of a suspect near the Atiret settlement, forces from the Israel Defense Forces were dispatched to the area. While confronting the suspect, he began stabbing the soldiers, who responded by shooting and killing him.” Conversely, the Hamas movement stated: “The incident near Halhul, north of Hebron, comes as part of the Palestinian people’s reaction to the occupation’s practices of killing, raids, house demolitions, and ongoing violations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.” According to Arab media, these developments occur amid a significant escalation in the West Bank, which has resulted in the death of at least 1,085 Palestinians and the injury of more than 10,000, in addition to the arrest of over 21,000 people since the start of the Israeli attack on Gaza on October 8, 2023.
