Italian champions Napoli stumbled in Bologna on Sunday, losing 2-0, allowing Inter Milan to claim the Serie A lead after defeating Lazio by the same score.

Roma temporarily topped the table after a 2-0 win against Udinese, but Inter surpassed them on goal difference.

Just three minutes into their match, Lautaro Martinez gave Inter the lead, with Ange-Yoan Bonny extending it at the hour mark with a close-range shot.

Piotr Zielinski thought he added a third for Inter, but his goal was annulled by VAR.

In Rome, goals from Lorenzo Pellegrini and Zeki Celik on either side of halftime pushed Roma to first place on 24 points after 11 games.

Roma’s breakthrough came when Hassane Kamara conceded a penalty for handling the ball, which Pellegrini converted in the 42nd minute.

Roma secured the win when Celik finished off a pass from Gianluca Mancini just after the hour mark.

Udinese had late chances, but Roma’s goalkeeper Mile Svilar denied Nicolo Zaniolo and Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

Napoli failed to capitalize on AC Milan’s 2-2 draw against Parma, falling at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

After a scoreless first half, Napoli was caught off guard five minutes into the second half by Thijs Dallinga’s precise shot, set up by Nicolo Cambiaghi’s cross.

In the 66th minute, Bologna sealed their win with a Jhon Lucumi header into the top corner.

Bologna climbed to fifth, just one point behind fourth-placed Napoli.

Elsewhere, Sassuolo defeated Atalanta 3-0, while struggling Genoa drew 2-2 with last-placed Fiorentina.
