Adraee explained that “the exercise will involve multi-arm cooperation training to deal with different scenarios, including protecting the area and responding to immediate field threats.” These maneuvers come at a time when the Lebanese territories, especially in the south and the Bekaa region in the east of the country, have witnessed Israeli raids targeting commercial installations, which Israel claims are sites used by Hezbollah to rebuild its military arsenal. A Sputnik agency correspondent in Lebanon reported that more than 14 raids targeted various sections of the facility, from mixers to a truck repair workshop and administrative offices, causing near-total destruction and losses estimated at millions of dollars. A Sputnik camera captured the scene, where Ali Khalifa, one of the officials at the factory, said that the facility “includes an asphalt mixer, one of the largest in Lebanon, with a production capacity of up to 200 tons per hour, in addition to two concrete mixers,” noting that “one of the raids directly hit the liquid asphalt tank, leading to a massive explosion due to the burning of fuel and thermal oil.” It is noted that this came into effect on November 27, 2024, more than a year after Hezbollah opened what it called the “Support Front for the Gaza Sector” on October 8, 2023. The Israeli army was supposed to complete its withdrawal from the areas it occupied in southern Lebanon by dawn on January 26, according to a deadline specified in the agreement of 60 days, but Israel did not adhere to the date, and Washington later announced until February 18. Despite the agreement, the Israeli army occasionally launches strikes in Lebanon, claiming they are to remove “Hezbollah threats.”
