The Turkish newspaper, citing sources, reported that Israel has taken steps to divide the country through the United Nations after failing to achieve this on the ground. The newspaper added that Israel plans for “the President of Syria to be Arab, with vice presidents from the Druze and Alawites,” and to grant the position of Prime Minister to the Kurds in the new regime, according to the newspaper.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized that his country will not allow the division of Syria.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that “Russia has always been against using Syrian territory as an arena for geopolitical competition between other powers and settling scores between different countries,” adding, “Therefore, we constantly call for unifying international efforts in one direction to normalize the situation in the region.”
