Italy has reinforced its standing as a top global exporter of jewelry and gemstones, with exports to the UAE hitting €836.9 million in the first seven months of 2025. With a 7.9% market share, Italy is the third-largest jewelry exporter to the Emirates. The 13.72% year-on-year growth indicates a steady regional demand for Italian products and ongoing trade expansion between the two nations.
Italy’s jewelry industry will be showcased at Jewellery, Gem & Technology in Dubai (JGTD) 2025, occurring from November 11–13 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City. The Italian Pavilion, organized by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will feature 30 Italian companies highlighting innovations in design, materials, and technology.
The event will include a special Italian Jewellery Lounge designed to foster dialogue between manufacturers, buyers, and industry stakeholders in the region.
“Italy’s involvement in JGTD Dubai underscores the strength of our bilateral trade relations and our shared dedication to innovation and quality,” stated Lorenzo Fanara, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE. “Italian companies bring a legacy of design and craftsmanship that complements the UAE’s status as a global luxury trade center.”
The UAE remains a crucial gateway for the global jewelry industry, bolstered by rising consumer demand, tourism, and favorable business conditions. According to the World Gold Council, the UAE ranked fifth worldwide in gold jewelry demand in Q2 2024, nearing 40 tonnes. Dubai’s reputation as a worldwide trading hub continues to draw jewelry manufacturers and exporters seeking regional and international growth prospects.
“The UAE is a vital market for Italian jewelry exports, which remain a leading category here,” commented Valerio Soldani, trade commissioner, Italian Trade Agency in the UAE. “JGTD offers a significant platform for Italian businesses to connect with regional partners and explore future collaboration opportunities.”
As part of ITA’s broader efforts to enhance international business collaboration, JGTD 2025 is among the official events supported by OpportunItaly, the business acceleration program promoted by the Italian Trade Agency and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. This initiative links international buyers and distributors with Italian companies through targeted business-matching tools and sector-specific activities.
Jewellery, Gem & Technology in Dubai (JGTD) has become a major international event for the jewelry and gemstone industry, attracting exhibitors, suppliers, and buyers from global markets.
