According to a statement issued by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi described the Israeli military operations as “absolutely unacceptable,” noting that their continuation threatens to undermine the foundations of a two-state solution. He urged Israel to halt “all unilateral actions” that hinder achieving this solution and called on all parties to return to negotiations in good faith to reach an immediate ceasefire and secure the release of hostages. Tokyo reaffirmed its steadfast support for a two-state solution, which guarantees peaceful coexistence with an independent Palestinian state.
It is worth noting that Israel’s plan to take control of the city, known as “Gideon’s Chariots 2,” includes the forcible displacement of about one million Palestinians to the southern sector, which has led to widespread international criticism of Israel, which continues its readiness to implement the plan despite all warnings.
Since October 7, 2023, until the current September 16, the war on Gaza has resulted in the death of about 65,000 Palestinians in addition to approximately 165,000 injured, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
