Jeremy Renner expressed his enthusiasm for a second season of Hawkeye in an interview with People magazine.
“I’m fond of the character,” he said about Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye. “There’s plenty more for us to explore.”
Renner, an Avengers veteran, remarked, “I’ll always team up with Marvel. I’m on board whenever it feels right and exciting.”
Renner last portrayed Clint in the six-episode first season of Hawkeye in 2021, sharing the screen with Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop.
Previously, he disclosed that he was offered “half” of his initial salary for a second season.
“I thought, ‘It’ll take double the effort for half the pay and eight months of my life to do it,'” he mentioned.
Renner attributed Disney’s reduced offer to his serious snowmobile accident on New Year’s Day 2023, joking, “Did they think I’m only half of Jeremy after the accident?”
In January 2023, Renner endured blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries when a snowplow ran over him near his Lake Tahoe home.
His severe injuries necessitated several titanium implants and a challenging recovery period.
Renner’s future projects include Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, debuting on Netflix on December 12. His Paramount+ series, Mayor of Kingstown, will premiere its fourth season on October 26.
