Joint Naval Exercises in Sea of Japan 2025

The Pacific Fleet statement announced: “Ships and naval units of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army have departed Vladivostok for the Sea of Japan to conduct the practical part of the joint maneuvers ‘Naval Interaction 2025’. The statement reported that ships specialized in rescue missions have headed to other areas of the Sea of Japan, including the Russian rescue ship ‘Igor Belousov’ and the Chinese submarine rescue ship ‘Xihu’, in addition to diesel-electric submarines from both sides. It was confirmed that ‘the exercises are defensive in nature and do not target any other country,’ noting that they will include both coastal and maritime parts.

The maneuvers consist of two phases: land and sea, with the Russian side led by the destroyer ‘Admiral Tributs’ and the Chinese side by the destroyer ‘Xiaoxin’.
