The ministry reaffirmed Jordan’s consistent stance in condemning all acts of violence and rejecting all illegal actions that endanger the interests of the Kingdom and its role in delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza. Today, 22 Jordanian aid trucks crossed the bridge as part of agreed-upon procedures, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to providing humanitarian support to the sector.

Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, Jordan has dispatched 8,664 aid trucks in 201 convoys, making the Kingdom a major supply artery for aid amid the humanitarian crisis caused by the aggression. The statement emphasized the need for an immediate halt and the achievement of a permanent ceasefire, calling for urgent and effective diplomatic action to resolve the conflict on the basis of the two-state solution, ensuring the region’s protection from the repercussions of continuous escalation.

In the same context, Israeli media announced today, Thursday, about an incident on the Allenby Bridge at the border with Jordan involving two people in a shooting incident. Channel 13 reported Thursday evening the death of two Israelis in a shooting or stabbing attack on the Allenby Bridge at the border with Jordan, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the details.

The newspaper ‘Israel Hayom’ reported the killing of two Israelis, following news of one death and another in critical or ‘death’ condition, as it described. The newspaper’s website mentioned that about a year ago, specifically in September 2024, a ‘terrorist’ was shot dead at a border crossing after arriving via Jordan in a truck and opening fire at the site.

Meanwhile, the Israeli police stated on their website that they managed to arrest the perpetrator and are interrogating him at the scene. It was clarified that two men were injured, one aged 50 and in critical condition after being shot in the upper body, while the second Israeli, aged 23, sustained moderate injuries. Both were transferred to a hospital in Jerusalem for treatment.

The West Bank is witnessing a wave of tension and field confrontations between Palestinians and Israeli forces, accompanied by raids and arrests of Palestinians, coinciding with the war on the Gaza Strip.
