For the second consecutive year, Kendrick Lamar leads the Grammy nominations with nine, surpassing Lady Gaga’s seven in the race for the music industry’s highest accolades.

Both Lamar’s “GNX” and Gaga’s “MAYHEM” are vying for the prestigious album of the year award at the 2026 Grammy Awards in February. Despite numerous nominations, neither has yet secured this prize.

Other contenders for album of the year include Bad Bunny with his Spanish-language “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” Justin Bieber’s “Swag,” and Sabrina Carpenter’s “Man’s Best Friend.”

Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl,” a four-time album of the year winner, missed out as it was released after the eligibility period.

Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny, set to perform at the next Super Bowl halftime show, earned six nominations, including for record, song, and album of the year.

Two KPop tracks are in the running for song of the year, recognizing songwriters: “Golden” from “KPop Demon Hunters” and “APT.” by Rose and Bruno Mars.

“APT.” also competes for record of the year, awarded to producers and performers. Other nominees include Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” Lamar and SZA’s “luther,” and Bad Bunny’s “DtMF.”

In the best new artist category, Olivia Dean and KATSEYE face off against Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, and more. Thomas, an R&B and soul artist, also received an album of the year nod for “Mutt.”

Winners will be determined by around 15,000 members of the Recording Academy, with announcements at Los Angeles’ red-carpet event on February 1.
