Cloudflare, a leading web infrastructure and security firm renowned for enhancing the speed and safety of websites, apps, and networks, reported API issues on Friday.

On the afternoon of September 12, the company announced having “identified an issue” with their API that “could potentially affect multiple customers.”

“Executing bulk requests to our Custom Hostnames API endpoint may result in unexpected timeouts,” the company noted in a website advisory. They stated that the issue would impact Cloudflare Sites and Services, including API and SSL for SaaS Provisioning.

However, “this does not affect the distribution of cached files via the Cloudflare CDN or other security features at the Cloudflare Edge.”

The company confirmed it is actively working to resolve the problem.

One of Cloudflare’s primary offerings is its global Content Delivery Network (CDN), which accelerates site loading by caching data on servers worldwide, allowing users to access content from the nearest location.

Cloudflare serves as a protective intermediary between websites and their visitors, filtering traffic to prevent malicious activities while enhancing content delivery speed.

The company also offers robust security solutions, such as protection against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, a Web Application Firewall (WAF) to mitigate common cyber threats, and rapid, secure Domain Name System (DNS) services.
