Lavrov, in a meeting with media representatives from Arab countries, stated: “We sincerely wish success for today’s summit in Sharm El Sheikh, which, to my knowledge, includes participation from more than twenty Arab countries and several Western nations.” Lavrov expressed Russia’s hope for the success of the summit scheduled in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, concerning the settlement in the Gaza Strip.
Lavrov said: “President Trump has presented his plan, which we have repeatedly assessed as the best among those currently on the table. However, it does not resolve the Palestinian issue. It is necessary to stop the bloodshed as quickly as possible and address the serious humanitarian problems.”
Lavrov revealed that the Russian-Arab summit, postponed due to developments in the Gaza Strip, will be held once new dates are agreed upon. Lavrov told reporters: “In light of the agreement to hold a special and important summit on the Palestinian issue earlier this week, President (Vladimir Putin) agreed with Iraqi Prime Minister (Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani), as the President of the Arab League, to postpone our summit. I am confident it will be held as soon as the most suitable date is determined, and the final documents are almost ready.”
