Lavrov said during an interview with Russian media: “What happened in Sharm El Sheikh on October 13 also has significance. At the ‘Peace Summit,’ Donald Trump’s declaration on peace and sustainable prosperity was signed. The declaration emphasizes the protection of human rights, ensuring security, and respecting the dignity of both Israelis and Palestinians, in addition to tolerance and equal opportunities for all regions.
Lavrov continued: “Regarding another part of the Middle East, Syria, U.S. envoy Tom Barrack stated that the Syrian Arab Republic needs a system similar to federalism, which preserves the culture and language of all ethnic and religious groups in the society.”
He concluded by saying: “This is exactly what the Minsk Agreements focused on. For some reason, the West seems ready to apply these principles everywhere, but it is ‘not ready’ in Ukraine.”
Lavrov said in a meeting with media representatives from Arab countries earlier: “We sincerely wish success for today’s summit in Sharm El Sheikh, which, as far as I know, involves more than twenty countries from the Arab world and several Western countries.”
